100 Years of Scouting — The Boy Scouts of America organization celebrated their first 100 years in 2010. During the 100th Anniversary year, the Narragansett Council participated in national and local celebrations that highlight its proud history. The Scouting 100 site was created by the Narragansett Council in order to showcase some of the young men who have reached the highest rank attainable in Scouting: Eagle Scout. Periodically, we will add new stories featuring the Council’s recent Eagle Scouts. The site is a testament to the young leaders in our Council. It’s also a terrific way for others to learn about Scouting and appreciate the great value it holds for our community as we begin a second century.
These Scouts are Our Future — The Narragansett Council, which serves 17,000 young people each year, salutes our Eagle Scouts and their accomplishments both in and out of Scouting. Nationally, only four percent of Boy Scouts reach the rank of Eagle. To do so, a Scout must undertake an extensive service project, which they plan, organize, lead and manage. The projects require outstanding commitment and dedication, as is clearly displayed on this site. The Council is proud of our Eagle Scouts’ success and personal growth throughout their years in Scouting.
