Wareham

George Ramos Jr.

Troop number and community:
Troop 93, Wareham

Month and year you earned your eagle:
July 2007

Describe your Eagle project:
My project was to renovate a church basement in my community. This project made it possible for the Pastor and church parishioners to utilize it for events.

What are some highlights of your Scouting experience?
My highlights in Scouting include: Earning my Arrow of Light/crossing over, obtaining the rank of Eagle, and, most dear to me, working on staff at Camp Cachalot. I have made so many close friendships and memories while working at camp. I have learned so many things about myself and about the world around me.

Explain why Scouting has been important to you and why it's still important to our community and nation after 100 years:
Scouting has been important to me because it has helped me to grow to be a better person and leader. It has shaped my life in a way so rewarding and gratifying. Without it, I would not be the person I am today. Scouting continues to be vital in our community and nation because it is the glue that keeps us all together. During any time, citizens can rely on the Boy Scouts of America to help with service projects, provide leadership, and deliver quality programs to its youth that keep them off the streets and out of trouble. That is what gives our country a positive and bright future.
